The National Youth Justice Advisory Group is a national body which incorporates representatives from all 32 local authorities across Scotland. The representatives are the strategic link between the local youth justice representatives within authorities and government, providing a conduit for information, policy and national development. The group meets quarterly and is supported administratively by Criminal Justice Social Work Development Centre. In addition to the 32 local authority representatives, Government, the Scottish Reporter's Administration and the CJSWDC are also represented.
The National Youth Justice Advisory Group aims to provide a lead in the development and communication of youth justice strategy and practice and will contribute to the development of processes and practice that relate to children and young people at risk of and involved in offending and antisocial behaviour.
