Combating serious organised crime and tackling organised crime groups is a priority for the Scottish Government and the Scottish Police Service.

Action:

• Established the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce
• Published a map of the scale and extent of serious organised crime in Scotland
• Published the Taskforce's organised crime strategy: 'Letting our Communities Flourish' - working with partners to implement the strategy
• Published 'Letting our Communities Flourish - One Year On'
• Provided an additional £4 million funding to the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency to boost Scotland's capacity to tackle serious organised crime
• Introduced new powers in the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010 to tackle serious organised crime at all levels
• Boosted asset recovery work
• Commitment to the Scottish Crime Campus at Gartcosh
