If you are worried about a weapon there are three options open to you:
- Crimestoppers
- Shadow CS
- The police
Crimestoppers
Crimestoppers is an independent charity helping to find criminals and help solve crimes.
Although some people think that airguns are not regulated, in reality there are a lot of controls over possession and use of these potentially dangerous weapons. If you are worried about incidents in your area, you can report these to the authorities, anonymously if you wish. There are several ways you can do this.
They have a confidential phone number, 0800 555 111, that people can call to pass on information about crime; alternatively people can send information anonymously via www.crimestoppers-uk.org, using the Giving Information Form. Callers don't have to give their name or any personal information and calls cannot be traced.
"Tell us what you know, not who you are."
Shadow CS is an interactive website all about crime, for young people aged 11-16+. It's a place where you can talk about crime, ask questions and get advice if you're unsure of what to do. There's also lots of games, downloads, music and competitions that you can get involved in! If you know something about a crime, you can give information anonymously through a secure online form. It is run by Crimestoppers which is an independent charity and not part of the police.
