RICHARD SMITH
Interim Commissioner
Richard Smith was appointed as the Interim Scottish Prisons Complaints Commissioner by Scottish Ministers in July 2008. Mr Smith was previously the Interim Chief Executive of the new Scottish Legal Complaints Commission (SLCC). Prior to that appointment, he was the Director of the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO). Mr Smith has a background in complaints handling, change management and logistics. He has held senior managerial roles at the Royal Bank of Scotland, Diageo and other leading companies.
