Purpose of the circular: To advise forces of the introduction of a standard set of application forms to be used in processing applications to join the Scottish Police Service.

Summary of contents: Attached are copies of the forms which forces should use in processing applications from individuals wishing to join the Scottish Police Service. These have been approved by the Personnel and Training Committee of the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland and comprise:-

A covering letter to applicants

Application Form

Equality and Diversity Monitoring Form

Guidance Notes for Completion of the Application Form

Marketing Form

Person Specification

References

Arrangements are being made for each force to be provided as soon as possible with a set of the forms on CD ROM in PDF format. Vetting Policy is currently under review and information will be sent to forces in due course.
