Dear Colleague

Purpose of the circular: To provide guidance to staff and managers in the Scottish Police Service on the adoption of flexible working / leave arrangements.

Summary of contents: The attached document provides guidance in relation to the range of flexible working /leave arrangements that are available and the application process to be followed by managers and staff. The guidance includes information about :-

The Right to Request Flexible Working;

Available Flexible Working Alternatives,

Types of Flexible Leave Arrangements,

Pay and Conditions of Service.

It is recognised that giving staff the opportunity to adopt flexible working patterns and leave arrangements can bring benefits to both employers and employees. It is important therefore that all police officers, staff and managers are aware of these arrangements.
