Sub Saharan Africa Development Programme - Call for Funding

The Scottish Government International Development Team is pleased to open a second round of funding under the Sub Saharan Africa Development Programme.

As outlined in the Guidance on Programmes and Funding published the Sub Saharan Africa Development Programme sets out the Scottish Government's framework for our engagement with some of the poorest countries in Sub-Saharan Africa which have a historical and, in some cases, contemporary relationship with Scotland.

This second funding round for the Programme will award funding to projects in Rwanda , Tanzania and Zambia to support work on priority areas for this round, which are food production, water, renewable energy and climate change mitigation. The focus of the project should address the development priorities identified by the Governments of each of these countries in these areas and provide scope to share Scottish expertise and innovation. Applicants should note that we are no longer including the Darfur region of Sudan within our geographical funding priorities.
