Benchmarking

Benchmarking and information work supports the Delivering for Mental Health commitments through seeking measurable standards to track progress and measure "like for like" in the future. The Benchmarking project group are:

  • agreeing mental health and social care definitions
  • identifying potential mental health and social care indicators
  • reviewing the available baseline data collected both nationally and locally; and
  • looking at the validity of this data (accuracy, relevance, reliability, completeness).

These data will provide information to assist in service planning, setting delivery targets and tracking progress towards implementation of the HEAT targets and DFMH commitments.

The work is being taken forward in partnership with the Information and Statistics Division (ISD) of NHS- National Services Scotland.
