Working with Mentally Disordered Offenders

This package of training materials was designed largely by Ed Finlayson of the State Hospital in conjunction with the Scottish Government. It was designed specifically for Mental Health Officers as an overall awareness training in work with mental disordered offenders and was created to bring them up to speed on the law and policy context of this work. The materials were launched in March and April 2007 via two training for trainers events, to cascade the training throughout most of the MHOs in Scotland. As such, this collection of materials also includes some notes and guidance for trainers and a sample programme of how they might be used. Their free and wide-spread use is encouraged.
