Cancer Services Improvement Programme

The Cancer Service Improvement Programme aims to improve experiences and outcomes for patients with cancer, in three key areas:

  • Detecting and treating cancer early
  • Rapid access to diagnosis and treatment
  • Improving treatment and care

The programme aims to accelerate the pace of change and the aim is to achieve a maximum wait of no more than two months from urgent referral to treatment by end of December 2005.
