The Scottish Ministerial Working Group on Tobacco Control was set up in March 2004 to guide the implementation of the tobacco control action plan "A Breath of Fresh Air for Scotland " (January 2004) and help to shape the future direction of national policy.
Remit
The formal remit of the Ministerial Group is:-
"To provide expert advice to the Scottish Executive on the health impact of tobacco and measures to reduce that impact; and to provide a forum for the dissemination of best practice in relation to tobacco control throughout Scotland."
