REMIT
The Scottish Orthotics Review Recommendations Implementation Group (SORRIG) was established in May 2007. The group's remit is to:
- Oversee the implementation of the recommendations of the Orthotics review in support of the Project Manager.
- Consider and approve the project plan developed by the Project Manager identifying objectives/targets which both the group and the Project Manager must achieve within its one-year lifespan.
- Consider the financial, and other, implications for Health Boards of implementing each of the recommendations made in the Scottish Orthotic Services Review.
- Facilitate information sharing, and the development of best practice, to drive forward the implementation of the review's recommendations.
- Report to the Department, within 6 months, providing information on the implementation of recommendations to date and proposals for the implementation of remaining measures.
- Approve a report by the Project Manager, within one year of appointment, for ReTSAG and the Scottish Executive Health Department, providing a national overview on the implementation of improvements in service delivery by the end of the project.
- Consider, in liaison with NCEPTO, the implications of the workforce planning related recommendations made in the Scottish Orthotic Services Review with regard to training and development and the projected requirements in terms of orthotist recruitment
