Scottish Physical Activity and Health Alliance

The Scottish Physical Activity and Health Alliance (PAHA) is a joint national initiative of NHS Health Scotland and the Scottish Government to support further implementation of Scottish physical activity policy.

Healthy EatingThe Alliance provides a focus for action to implement Scotland's physical activity strategy and a national consultative platform where members share knowledge and learning and have an opportunity to inform future policy decisions for health improvement in Scotland.

The Alliance provides practitioners in the field of physical activity and health in Scotland with an interactive vehicle for two-way communication through which existing evidence, policy and practice will be disseminated.

The Alliance takes the form of a virtual interactive e-network plus a programme of annual events.

On February 24, 2009 the Physical Activity Health Alliance conference was held at Heriot-Watt University campus, Riccarton, Edinburgh where the Minister for Public health Shona Robinson launched the review of the Physical Activity Strategy.
