Create or improve place for activity through:

  • urban design
  • planning transport and travel
  • plans for using land
  • access to facilities - programming and costs

Social Support in Community settings:

  • build, strengthen and maintain social networks that can support physical activity
  • create new methods specifically to develop support physical activity (e.g walking groups and activity buddies)

Providing information about reducing risks and simple actions that could reduce risks through:

  • signs on stairwells, at lifts and on escalators
  • local community events (family walks and health fairs)
  • local media features
