Week six - spring in the step
Friday, March 13, 2009

This week I was in Dumfries with Sebastian Coe, Chair of the London Olympics Committee, to look in on some keep fit initiatives in the town.
There really was something to encourage everyone to get involved in getting fit and especially for the local kids who were showing off their impressive cycling, curling and swimming skills.
I also joined Seb and a few local people for a walk and cycle in the morning which was a great chance to stretch my legs after the journey to Dumfries.
At the weekend I was out and about quite a lot, walking to and from the shops down the road.
Yesterday I was in Dundee most of the day on constituency business. There were a few engagements that were more than a short stroll apart so again I was pounding the pavements most of the day.
All is going well so far on achieving my 30 minutes most days. I guess the difference is that I think about what activity I'm doing more, and would notice if there was a couple of days where I'd been sitting too much and not moving about.
Thanks for all your supportive comments so far - and please keep them coming. It's good to hear others are doing the same. Adds a spring to my step - so to speak!
