After School
It is important that children and young
people learn the value of using up energy on everyday tasks
such as walking, lifting and carrying, pushing and
pulling.

They should be encouraged to respond
positively to every opportunity to be active.
There is a common belief that children
'naturally' develop the competence to enjoy being active.
Research suggests this is not the case.
