Introduction
The National Health Demonstration Projects are flagship
initiatives flowing from the proposals in the white paper
Towards a
Healthier Scotland.
There are three projects operating in different parts of
the country - based in Glasgow, Lothian and Paisley - to
improve child health, inform young people's attitudes to
sexual activity and prevent coronary heart disease.
The purpose of these community-based demonstration
projects is to act as hot-beds of activity and testing
grounds for action in order to inform national policy and
practice.
