Why was the IHRWG established?
The short life Integrated Human Resources Working Group
(IHRWG) was established to take forward the recommendations
relating to workforce issues contained in the Report of the
Joint Future Group.
What did the HR group do ?
The Working Group made a number of recommendations for
local partners and the Executive on manging HR issues in
the context of joint working. Its Report also contains
practical HR advice. Click here to view remit and full
membership of the Group.
The Working Group was established under the chairmanship
of Peter Bates, Chair of Tayside NHS Board and reported to
Malcolm Chisholm, then Minister for Health and Community
Care, in May 2002. Click on the links to view the Report
and the response from Malcolm Chisholm. Following
consultation, the Report was accepted, apart from one
recommendation.
How did the group work?
The Group comprised a wide range of stakeholders. It
consulted extensively those responsible for delivering
health and community care services. It held 13 workshops
throughout Scotland.
When will the group's work be
implemented?
The implementation of the IHRWG Report is now being
taken forward by the Joint Future Implementation and
Advisory Group, jointly chaired by Kevin Woods, Chief
Executive, NHSScotland, and Rory Mair, Chief Executive,
CoSLA. It set up a Human Resources Sub-Group to further the
HR issues. Much of the original agenda is already being
implemented.
Further work on implementing the IHRWG Report is now
being taken forward by the Human Resources Directorate of
NHSScotland, CoSLA and the Joint Future Unit.
