What is the Assessment Review Co-ordinating Group (ARCG)?

The Assessment Review Co-ordinating Group (ARCG) supports the co-ordinated and integrated implementation of Single Shared Asssessment across Scotland. Its functions include developing consistent definitions for single shared assessment across agencies and across Scotland to support local and national Joint Future developments, particularly in the context of information sharing.

How does the ARCG contribute to the work of JFU?

It is the overarching group on for consideration of assessment issues. It comprises local professionals and managers, and national inputs from the Joint Future Unit, Ecare and Childrens' Divisions,and the Information Services Division of National Services Scotland. It developed the National Minimum Information Standards for Single Shared Assessment for older people.

Why were these standards developed?

The Minimum Information Standards build on the guidance for Single Shared Assessment (SSA). They reflect the Executive's desire for both national and local partnerships to develop more effective and consistent ways of sharing information. Compliance with the National Minimum Information Standards will bring the process of a common language for assessment across all community care Groups. The circular introducing the National Minimum Information Standards for Older people was published in December 2004. CCD 15/2004

The ARCG meets on a 2 monthly basis .
