Partnership Development
What is Partnership Development?
The key elements of Joint Future at the partnership
development level provide the high level framework for
joint working, and set the context for joint working at the
operational and service levels. There are different, but
often similar, arrangements in each Joint Future
Partnership area that reflect local circumstances. The key
elements that comprise Partnership Development are:
Why is Partnership Development
important?
To ensure that there are transparent arrangements to
consider and make firm agreements for inclusion in joint
strategic plans such as Community Plans, Local Health
Plans; Community Care Plans and Partnership Agreements.
Partnership development is also the means to make ensure
that policy and strategy are translated into practice.
How will we achieve this?
Through strong leadership and commitment from the top of
each statutory organisation; through agreeing respective
responsibilities for explicit actions and timescales;
through allocation of appropriate resources from partner
agencies to support implementation.
These high level arrangements need to fit in with the
wider processes in NHS Board(s) and in local
authorities so that elected members, non- executives on NHS
Boards, officers of the partner agencies and other key
stakeholders can understand and contribute fully to the
delivery of Joint Future.
When will these arrangements take
effect?
Each Joint Future partnership has partnership
arrangements, will work to national timescales as required,
and will have their own local joint development plans with
associated timescales.
