The Community Care (Personal Care and Nursing Care) (Scotland) Amendment Regulations 2008
This circular provides information about revised rates of Free Personal Care and Nursing Care Payments to self funders in care homes. The above regulations amend regulation 2 of the Community Care (Personal Care and Nursing Care) (Scotland) Regulations 2002 so as to increase the payment rates as from 1 April 2008.
Personal Care and Nursing Care payments to self funders in care homes are currently £145 per week for personal care and £65 per week for nursing care. Following consultation and agreement with COSLA, the payments will be increased in line with inflation from 1 April 2008. This will mean that the current payment levels will be increased to £149 per week for personal care and £67 per week for nursing care. Local authorities have agreed to deliver this commitment from within the agreed local government settlement allocations provided for 2008-09 to 2010-11.
