The Care Commission regulates and inspects all care services in Scotland using the National Care Standards to ensure that service users receive the same standard of care wherever they live in Scotland. There are 15 types of care services regulated by the Commission ranging from adoption agencies to dental services.
The Care Standards and Sponsorship team is responsible for progressing remaining work on National Care Standards, developing and implementing care service regulation policy and providing sponsorship for the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care (Care Commission). The team also acts as the link between the Care Commission and Scottish Ministers.
