The new national uniform will contain a range of garments for all clinical and non-clinical staff.
It will be manufactured in an innovative fabric specially formulated for NHSScotland. It will be cool enough for the hospital environment and warm enough for continual outdoor use. In terms of comfort, it will stretch to allow bending and freedom of movement. It has a better style and fit and is appropriate for manual handling needs.
Maternity wear will be available and specialist garments will be manufactured to meet religious, ethnic or medical needs.
The key elements of the National Uniform are a single style tunic or polo-shirt which is manufactured in a much improved quality and fabric. It will be supplied in a quartet of blues for clinical staff and a duo of greens for non-clinical staff.
