National Regulation Event - 27 and 28 October 2009, Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, Ratho
The second annual Scottish Government Regulation Event was held at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, Ratho, on 27 and 28 October 2009.
Day one of this Scottish based annual event was chaired by Sir Graeme Catto of the University of Aberdeen. It focussed on progress made on implementation in Scotland of the UK White Paper Trust, Assurance and Safety - The Regulation of Health Professionals in the 21st Century.
Day two of this event was chaired by Dr Moira Livingston, Chair of the Department of Health UK working group on Extending Professional Regulation. It featured a keynote address by Nicola Sturgeon, the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Health and Wellbeing. The day focussed on UK work on extension of professional regulation to new groups and on progress made following the pilot for the Regulation of Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.
