NHS 60th Anniversary

60th AnniversaryHappy 60th Birthday NHSScotland

It will be the 60th Anniversary of the NHS on July 5, 2008. This provides an appropriate time to reflect on past achievements and acknowledge how far healthcare has evolved over the last six decades.

A number of local and national events will be held across Scotland which will look back at the last 60 years and towards the future of NHSScotland.

The events will take place throughout the year, however the majority will be held on or around the anniversary date of July 5, 2008.

A Steering Group is overseeing plans for the celebration activities and is encouraging as many organisations and individuals as possible to get involved in celebrating the anniversary. NHS Boards will also mark the anniversary in a way that best meets the needs of staff and the local community.

60th Anniversary Logo

The 60th Anniversary identity is based on the NHSScotland logo and its local variants.

The logo will have a lifespan lasting the year of the 60th Anniversary and should be used wherever possible on materials that will fit within that timescale i.e. up to but not exceeding December 31, 2008.
