Targets

We recognise climate change as a serious threat and one that will have far reaching effects on Scotland's economy, its people and its environment.

As a responsible organisation we are committed to playing our part in rising to this challenge by taking targeted and measured action across our estate to reduce the emissions which contribute to climate change.

To reduce our emissions we need to become more efficient, resourceful and smarter about the way we carry out our day-to-day business.

As a major player in the public sector, the Scottish Government has established a set of targets for its environmental performance. These ambitious targets for the SG estate illustrate our understanding of a responsibility to Lead by Example and to challenge ourselves to achieve the best results in terms of meeting sustainability criteria. They are designed to reflect our approach to each of the environmental areas affected by our daily business activities.
