Review of Community Councils
Background
In November 2005 the Scottish Executive issued a discussion paper entitled " What can we do to help Community Councils Fulfil their Role". The paper was part of a process of gathering information aimed at identifying specific obstacles and examples of good practice, thus enabling evidence-based decisions on how Community Councils can become more effective in carrying out their function.

Outcome
The evaluation of the responses was carried out in-house and is now complete with the Analysis of Responses available to view.
Ministers have carefully considered the recommendations made to them as a result of the Review.
The Way Forward
A short life Working Group has been formed to take this work forward.
