e-Procurement

Introduction

eProcurement Scotl@nd (ePS) is one of the most comprehensive and successful public sector eGovernment initiatives in the world. It is available for use across the entire Scottish public sector, including central government, local authorities, NHS boards, universities, colleges, the fire service and the police service.

It is a fully hosted and managed 24 x 7 eProcurement service, which supports the key elements of the purchase-to-pay (P2P) cycle including eSourcing (electronic tendering and auctions) and eOrdering (including eContent). ePS also has close links to other key technologies enabling the P2P cycle including Public Contracts Scotland (contract advertising portal), Scottish Procurement Information Hub (expenditure analysis tool) and Datamart (management information hub). Review the ePS website to find out more.

Future Vision of the eProcurement Scotland Service Consultation Exercise

A consultation exercise will be undertaken by the Scottish Procurement Directorate to inform the future vision of the eProcurement Scotland service. For further details please review the SPD ePS Consultation Paper.

Supplier Engagement

Procurement Scotland is providing support to ePS during the consultation exercise. The overarching vision and strategy resulting from this consultation will help inform the sourcing strategy.

A Prior Indicative Notice (PIN) has been issued to open a dialogue process with suppliers and details of the PIN are available from the Public Contract Scotland webpage.
