Procurement Scotland have supported Buying Solutions through negotiations with Microsoft for a new public sector agreement which has replaced the Memorandum of understanding. The Public Sector Agreement 2009 (PSA09) has been effective since 1 May 2009.

Scottish public sectors who can access the PSA09 are Central Government, Local Authorities, Health, Police and Fire & Rescue. Education bodies should contact their CoE for information on sector specific arrangements with Microsoft.

SCHEDULE 1 PRICING HAS BEEN EXTENDED

Procurement Scotland are delighted to confirm that Schedule 1 preferential pricing for individual customer transactions will now be available until 15 December 2009. It is recognised that many organisations may benefit from this additional time to evaluate the benefits of PSA09. Some key benefits include;

  • Preferential Pricing;
  • Software packages specifically designed for the public sector;
  • Ability to transfer licenses between public sector organisations;

The decision by Microsoft to extend the initial Schedule 1 pricing period will allow many more organisations to take advantage of the agreement in the short term.

Detailed guidance documentation on all aspects of the agreement are available through your Centre of Expertise (CoE) secure site or on Procurement Scotland's secure sharepoint site for download.

Organisations can purchase Microsoft requirements through the established Microsoft partner channels. Further information on Microsoft's partners is available at www.Microsoft.co.uk or on the Buying Solutions Website for details on ICT Framework for Goods and Services.
