INTRODUCTION
The IT Hardware category has been defined as comprising of desktop PCs, laptops and monitors and their associated services, for example imaging, installation to desk and asset tagging. These are items where there are opportunities for standardisation and which benefit from collaborative procurement efforts. At this time, network and communications hardware are not included; multi-function printers or MFDs are in a separate portfolio. Spend on IT services and contractors is being addressed under the Professional Services category.

- Entry Level Servers, Workstations & Thin Client Terminals:
In an effort to establish whether there is cross-sectoral demand for entry level servers, workstations or thin client terminals across Scottish public sector, on 16th October the team issued a survey to each of the Procurement Centres of Expertise, for onward distribution to their stakeholders. There is an area within the questionnaire where details of any commodities not listed, which organisations consider would benefit from a national collaborative approach, can be provided. Responses by 6th November 2009 would be appreciated.
On-Line Survey: If you have not yet seen the survey, please submit your response asap. All responses will be treated in confidence.
