Who makes up the procurement family?

In response to the Review of Public Procurement the Scottish Procurement Directorate has established the following specialist units within Government and Centres of Expertise, to support better collaboration and increased efficiency across the public sector. The Centres of Expertise have been established to manage the procurement of goods and services that are defined as Category B in key sectors e.g. wheelie bins, medical equipment and so on.

eProcurement Scotland

ePS was set up by the Scottish Government to support the full purchase to pay cycle providing a range of services including e-sourcing and transactional purchase to pay solutions.

Central Government Centre of Procurement Expertise

Central Government Certre of Procurement Expertise ( CGCoPE) is responsible for leading and facilitating collaborative procurement activity for Scottish Government Agencies, Non-Departmental Public Bodies (NDPBs), Tribunals and Public Corporations.

Procurement Scotland

Procurement Scotland is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies for national Category A commodities such as IT hardware and office supplies, on behalf of all Scottish public bodies.

Construction Procurement

The Government's Construction Advice and Policy Division also provides c onstruction procurement guidance and technical advice.

Public Contracts Scotland, is a free and easy to use national advertising portal which contains details of contracting opportunities across the Scottish Public Sector.

Scotland Excel

Scotland Excel aims to raise procurement standards across local authorities and related organisations through a collaborative approach.

NHS National Procurement is responsible for Health.

Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges

Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges ( APUC) is responsible for the Higher and Further Education sector.
