The Scottish Government's National Public Procurement Conference is the biggest event in the public procurement calendar. The conference provides an opportunity to hear how organisations and individuals from across the public sector are meeting the challenges and what lessons can be learned from those involved in reforming procurement practices and performance. The event is generally held in the month of October and news and development of the programme will be posted on the Procurex Scotland website.
Scottish Government has a continuing commitment and determination to see ongoing improvement in the reform programme through:
- Improving the quality of public services and ease of access for suppliers
- Delivering savings and value for money
- Buying sustainably
Public procurement continues to play a key role in supporting sustainable economic growth. The economic challenges facing Scotland will require a sharpening focus on the importance of effective procurement.
