If you do business with the Scottish Government, are on or use national / sectoral framework agreements, you may have noticed some recent changes.
National contracts covering the whole of the public sector in Scotland, as well as contracts specific to the central government sector, are now awarded by the same organisation.
The Scottish Procurement and Commercial Directorate, known informally as Scottish Procurement, has been formed to bring greater integration and cohesion to the services we provide.
Scottish Procurement brings together the national and central government contracting organisations as well as the procurement policy and eProcurement Service.
This re-organisation will help us to make the most of the skills of our staff, and to ensure that we are well placed to continue to lead the improvement of procurement across the public sector in Scotland - the importance of which was reinforced during the campaign for the recent Scottish Parliament elections.
If you are an existing customer, your key contacts will be in touch shortly to explain how these changes impact on you.
Some things have not changed - our absolute commitment to working with you to find the best possible solution for your particular needs is undiminished. In fact, we're confident that our new structure will make it easier to speak to us, and mean that we are better able to respond quickly and flexibly to the changing needs of our customers.
There will be no change to existing contracts or framework agreements as a result of this re-organisation, and contract opportunities will continue to be advertised on the Public Contracts Scotland portal. If you have any questions about these changes, please feel free to drop us an e-mail at scottishprocurement@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.
