EU Legislation in Scotland: EU Obligations Guidance

Handling EU Obligations Guidance

The effective and timely handling of our EU obligations is a growing priority for the Scottish Government. It contributes to our Purpose, delivering sustainable economic growth by helping to create a better regulatory environment for business. It strengthens Scotland's reputation as a constructive partner within Europe. In addition, EU obligations can potentially impact on all 5 strategic objectives and effective negotiation and implementation can make a substantial contribution to delivering these goals.

Following a ministerial commitment made to the Europe and External Affairs Committee of the Scottish Parliament we have published new guidance to assist policy officials in handling EU obligations, setting out how Ministers and officials should engage with stakeholders and clarifying who needs to do what, when and why.

Handling EU Obligations: A guide for Officials is primarily aimed at Scottish Government Officials but has been produced in consultation with a number of stakeholders.

For queries on the guidance please contact Deborah Snow or Ashley Voy.
