RELATIONS WITH DEVOLVED ADMINISTRATIONS
Combining Scotland's voice with those of Northern Ireland and Wales can be the most effective way of influencing the UK Government when agreeing a position on EU matters. To this end the Scottish Ministers actively seek to develop good relations with their counterparts in the Welsh Assembly and Northern Ireland Executive.
Where the position of the Devolved Administrations on certain EU matters coincide a co-ordinated approach to negotiating with and influencing the UK Government can achieve the greatest results. In order to do this effectively communication between the Ministers and officials of each devolved institution must be open and comprehensive to ensure that each understands the position of the other and the approach to take with the UK Government.
The Scottish Government will also look to its devolved administration partners when working with the UK Government to press for changes to the current UK systems for devolved government.
