Scottish Government Environmental Policy

The Scottish Government is committed to reducing our impact on the environment through the effective management of our operations. Our actions will be consistent with the shared priorities of the UK's framework for sustainable development:-

  • sustainable consumption and production;
  • climate change and energy;
  • natural resource protection and environmental enhancement; and
  • sustainable communities.

To achieve this we will, as far as is reasonably practicable, meet the following objectives, to

To make progress on these objectives and ensure continuous improvement the Government has adopted an Environmental Management System for its estate. This Management System sets out the roles, responsibilities and operational procedures to effectively manage the Government's interaction with our environment.
