Measures of Common Interest: Overview
Aid under this scheme is available to enhance skills, promote competitiveness and profitability, develop new markets. The scheme can also support promotional campaigns for fisheries and aquaculture products, raise consumer awareness about new species and the merits of purchasing accredited fish. Aid can also be granted to pilot projects, studies and trials of new equipment and projects intended to minimise the impact on the environment.
Fishing Port Facilities: Overview
This scheme provides aid to projects in active fishing ports which support the activities of the catching and aquaculture industries. Aid is available for a range of projects including; improving the conditions in which products are landed, processed, stored in port or auctioned; the repair and maintenance of fishing vessels, improving safety and working conditions; the storage and treatment of waste and measures to reduce discards.
Who can apply
Any public or private entity with a public project or action of common interest, i.e. whose scope is broader than that of private enterprises and which help to meet the objectives of the common fisheries policy may apply.
