Zero Waste Fund
As part of the Scottish Government's Budget for the period 2008-11, the ring-fence around the Strategic Waste Fund was removed with resources for local authorities being transferred to the general local government settlement.
The Scottish Government retained a Zero Waste Fund amounting to just over £152 million for the period 2008-11 (£41.1 million in 2008-09, £54.4 million in 2009-10 and £56.8 million in 2010-11).
Zero Waste Fund Table
The Scottish Government spent £54 million in 2008-11 to deliver its Zero Waste objectives through the following delivery bodies and projects. For 2010-11 this is delivered by Zero Waste Scotland (ZWS):

* In 2010-11 that Programmes 1-7 were merged to form a single delivery programme, Zero Waste Scotland. The funding for the separate programmes was rolled into one funding stream.
** Funding of Eco Schools in 2010-11 was transferred to the Education budget.
