Avoidance Sub-Committee

The Avoidance Sub-Committee was set up to consider issues from the National Flooding Framework which relate to Avoidance. In particular it continues the work started by the National Technical Advisory Group (NTAG) on defining and measuring sustainable flood management.

The Committee

The members of the committee are: Jim Conlin (Scottish Water) - Chair, Carolyn Girvan (Scottish Executive, Climate Change and Air), Professor Charles Ainger (MWH UK Ltd), Mike Donaghy (Scottish Environment LINK), Dr Roy Richardson(Scottish Environment Protection Agency), John Hood (Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department), Andrew Smith (Homes for Scotland), Iain Mathieson (NFU Scotland), John Smith (Royal Town Planning Institute in Scotland), Stephen Tingle (Renfrewshire Counci), Professor Alan Werritty (University of Dundee), Dr Jonathan Chapman (Environment Agency), Arthur Philip, Norwich Union, David Rae (Forestry Commission), Phil Boon (Scottish Natural Heritage), Morag Garden (Scottish Water).
