The Flooding Issues Advisory Committee was set up to:

• Continue the work started by NTAG on producing guidance for local authorities who are preparing flood prevention schemes
• Advise on sustainable flood management, including a pilot project and consultation
• Advise the Executive on the implementation of the National Flooding Framework via three sub-committees which are based on the four 'A's: Awareness, Assistance, Alleviation, Avoidance
