The strategy of DWQD is to reassure Scottish Ministers
about the adequacy of water resources to meet demands for
public water supplies for Scotland in the medium to long
term, recognising that the planning of any new major
resource can take many years. An annual report on public
water supplies in Scotland is published by Scottish Water
each year. Also studies are carried out on future demand
and resources periodically.
