Welcome to the Scottish Government's Air Quality Management internet pages.
The Government develops domestic policies and initiatives to improve air quality and reduce risks to human health. We work in partnership with the other Devolved Administrations and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to ensure objectives set out in the Air Quality Strategy for England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are achieved. In relation to European and international issues we take forward the transposition and implementation of European Community (EC) and other international obligations.
The Air web pages provide details of the Air Quality Strategy, latest news, publications and Advisory Groups, as well as links to pollution hotlines and information archives.
Comprehensive information on all aspects of air quality can be found on the Government funded Air Quality in Scotland website.
Air quality forecasts
The latest air quality bulletins and forecasts can be found on the Air Quality in Scotland website and also in the UK National Air Quality Information Archive
