Simplifying the Landscape: Consultation on proposals affecting the Deer Commission for Scotland (DCS) and the Advisory Committee on Sites of Special Scientific Interest (ACSSI)
On January 30 2008 the First Minister announced a series of actions to simplify the landscape of service delivery in Scotland.
The News Release, and associated documents, can be found at: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/News/Releases/2008/01/30142848
The announcement included a proposal, subject to consultation, to merge the functions of DCS and ACSSI into Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH).
Following a consultation on this, a summary report on it was published on April 16, 2008, containing a broad summary of views rather than named responses.
The transfers of functions of DCS and ACSSI to SNH are being taken forward in the Scottish Public Services Reform Bill, which will be introduced to the Scottish Parliament in late spring 2009.
