The Scottish Parliament is currently considering a Scottish Marine Bill which will put in place mechanisms to improve stewardship of the seas around Scotland. In addition to simplifying existing marine legislation, the proposed Marine Bill aims to enhance the long-term viability and growth of the various marine industries with greater stewardship of Scotland's special marine environment.
A Partial Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) in relation to the proposals within "Sustainable Seas for All - a consultation on Scotland's first marine bill" was undertaken. It provides information on the options discussed and the probable impact and cost of these options.
