Here is a selection of websites that are of relevance to the field of further education in Scotland:

• The Scottish Funding Council administers funds to Scotland's Colleges, Universities and Higher Education Institutions.
• The Association of Scotland's Colleges (ASC) represents all of Scotland's colleges.
• The Scottish Further Education Unit (SFEU) provides training, advice and specialist support to Scotland's Colleges.
• The Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) is a general teaching union which college lecturers in Scotland are able to join.
• The National Union of Students Scotland (NUS Scotland) represents students in both the further and higher education sectors in Scotland.
• The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) accredits and awards Scottish qualifications at both compulsory and post-compulsory levels.
• The Further Education Professional Development Forum for Scotland (FE-PDF) maintains a national index of professional development units and awards, which it approves colleges and their staff to deliver. It also acts as an advisory body to the Scottish Executive.
• Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) is the sector skills council for the lifelong learning sector across the whole of the UK. It subsumed the body known as FENTO (the Further Education National Training Organisation) at the beginning of 2005.
• The General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) advises the Scottish Executive with regard to entry requirements for the Teaching Qualification (Further Education) and related matters.
