
The International Lifelong Learning Network is a group of the main education stakeholders for international further and higher education and is designed to promote collaboration and information sharing on a Scotland-wide basis and to provide a vehicle through which to meet and disucss particular areas of interest. Members of the network form the group that oversees progress with work under the Strategic Investment Fund.

Remit
To co-ordinate the development and delivery of actions that are aligned with the Government's Purpose and National Performance Framework; and in particular to focus on the following areas:
- Attracting talent to Scotland and offering a high quality experience
- Facilitating the universal employability of all our students
- Participating actively in European and international policy development
- Leading development, capacity building and sustainability projects
- Fostering international partnerships and other strategic alliances.
Activities
These include:
- Responsibility for overseeing progress with and wider dissemination of Strategic Investment Fund projects
- Producing data on an annual basis to gather together information on international aspects of Scottish post school education and to compare ourselves with other countries
- Sharing information and highlighting the work of member organisations
- Encouraging collaboration between members in areas which will add value to existing work
- Identifying linkages between current areas of work and gaps which could be filled
- Identifying areas for collaboration outwith the group e.g. with UK-wide initiatives or other Scottish international education initiatives.

Governance arrangements
The group will
- Meet when convened by any member organisation to discuss specific areas of work as appropriate
- Have secretariat support from and be chaired by the organisation calling the meeting
- Have a panel of members responsible for overseeing progress with and wider dissemination of Strategic Investment fund projects
- Share information on significant international activities on a quarterly basis.
