The Scottish Government

This section covers the Scottish Government's international work with colleges and universities, all of which relates closely to the themes outlined in the Government's International Framework and Action Plan on European Engagement. There are also activities described here which relate to elements of the China Plan and the Memorandum of Understanding between Scotland and China on collaboration in education; as well as links with India and North America.

In addition to those initiatives and activities highlighted through the links on the left hand side of this page, the Scottish Government contributes funding to a number of organisations and programmes for international education, including:

• At a Scotland level, Education UK Scotland and the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience
• At a UK level, the Prime Minister's Initiative the UK-India Education and Research Initiative and the UK Council for International Student Affairs
• At an EU level, the Erasmus, Leonardo and Grundtvig programmes.
