
Celebrating Scotland's traditions and cultures is something that can be enjoyed at all stages of education. Below you will find details of the enterprising ways in which universities and colleges in Scotland are celebrating St Andrew's Day in 2007.

| Anniesland College | Turf-cutting ceremony planned for St Andrews Day to mark commencement of college redevelopment. |
| Banff and Buchan College | The college restaurant and refectory will have a Scottish theme and provide a free porridge breakfast to all staff and students! Students will undertake a variety of Scottish-themed activities, including hill-walking, floristry and hair and beauty treatments. |
| Clydebank College | Students will celebrate in a number of ways with St Andrew's Day body-painting, traditional Scottish food, a Scottish literature display and tartan dress. A raffle will be held with proceeds going to a local charity and a ceilidh will take place for international students. |
| University of Dundee | St Andrew's Day marks the launch of a series of lunchtime forums celebrating Scotland's place in the world. An evening ceilidh will celebrate and introduce international students to traditional Scottish culture. |
| University of Edinburgh | St Andrew's Day 2007 is the official launch of the first University of Edinburgh tartan! An international ceilidh will take place in St Cecilia's Hall in the evening. Students will also be present at the St Andrew's Day service and procession at St Giles' Cathedral. |
| John Wheatley College | The College will hold a 'diversity day' to celebrate the contributions of communities in Glasgow's East End and Greater Easterhouse, including those with learning difficulties and other disabilities. |
| Lauder College | Lauder College is organising a ceilidh for staff and stakeholders. |
| Motherwell College | There will be a turf-cutting ceremony on St Andrews Day to mark the commencement of college redevelopment. |
| University of Paisley | University of Paisley Students' Association will be holding 3 Ceilidhs at their Hamilton, Ayr and Paisley Campuses. The main Ceilidh will be held at the Paisley campus on 30 November with approximately 8000 students. |
| Queen Margaret University | Despite delays to the completion of their new campus, the Students' Union plan to celebrate St Andrew's Day and participate in city events. |
| South Lanarkshire College | Students will celebrate by wearing tartan and raising money for their local St Andrew's hospice. |
| Stow College | A St Andrew's Day lunch will be held for retired members of staff with pipers providing entertainment. A programme of celebrations for the student community is in development. |
| University of Strathclyde | On St Andrew's Day the student union will have a Scottish theme. They will also host a gig featuring Scottish band Figure 5, supported by Mother and the Addicts. |
