East Lothian

East Lothian covers an area of 679 square kilometres, and has a population of 92,830. More than half of the population live in the Musselburgh, Prestonpans, Cockenzie, Port Seton and Tranent areas. There are 42 publicly funded schools, including 35 primaries, 6 secondaries and 1 special school. 13,352 pupils attend these schools, including 7,451 primary pupils and 5,901 secondary pupils.
