9. Organisational development

9.1 Introduction

The way in which your organisation is run can have a big impact on your ability to work flexibly and responsively with equalities groups in CLD activity. The focus of this guidance has been strongly on ensuring that all activities are based on involvement, consultation and participation of people from equalities groups. To achieve this, you will need to operate in a way which ensures that everyone in your organisation recognises the overall importance of equality, and the particular importance of work with equalities groups in the CLD field.

This section sets out some of the issues which you may wish to consider in ensuring that your organisation operates in a way which enables effective CLD activity with equalities groups. There are three main themes within this section:
